British destroyer HMS Jackal 1910-1920


Part of the Acheron-class, succeeded by the Acorn-class and succeeded by the Acasta class. Built under the 1910-1911 Shipbuilding Programme using an Admiralty design. Laid down in October 1910, launched by R.W. Hawthorn Leslie&Company, Hebburn, England on 9 September 1911, completed in January 1912 and sold on 28 September 1920.

Displacement 1.010 tons and as dimensions 75 x 7,9 x 2,7 metres or 246 x 26 x 8.9 feet. Machinery consisted of 3 Parsons steam turbines and 3 Yarrow boilers delivering via 3 shafts 13.500shop allowing a speed of 27 knots. Her crew numbered 70 men. The armament consisted of 2-10cm/4” breech loading L/40 Mark III guns, 2-7,6cm/3”12pd 12cwt quick firing guns and 2-53,3cm/21” torpedo tubes.
