The Finnish merchant fleet according to the Dutch magazine Schip en Werf dated 13 January 1933

An item reported that the Finnish merchant fleet was increasing more and more in the last months as a result of buying ships abroad and foreign ships becoming Finland-flagged probably to get rid of paying social security and other financial obligations. In just one month were 35 ships with a total of 72.000 ton gross register tonnage registered in Finland.
