Italian shipping company Lloyd Triestino begun with line service between the Mediterranean and the Dutch East Indies according to the Dutch magazine Schip en Werf dated 13 January 1933

An item reported that the Italian shipping company Lloyd Triestino started on 1 January with a line service between the Adriatic Sea and the Dutch East Indies while visiting the harbours of Venice, Trieste, Brindisi, Port Saïd, Aden, Karachi, Bombay, Batavia, Semarang, Surabaya and Macassar. On the 16th of each month was Trieste left and after respectively 30 and 36 days was Batavia and Makassar reached. This was the second Italian shipping line towards the Dutch East Indies.
