In the 1950s Venezuela was interested in creating a
navy of certain importance. This included the purchase of two aircraft carriers
with modern fighters. However lacking knowledge Iccar asked around June 1955 Nevesbu
if it was possible to make a rough sketch of such a vessel for further study.
All shipyards participating in Nevesbu agreed with sending such a sketch. In
the meantime was the Chief of the Dutch naval staff also asked for permission.
Furthermore was asked if it was possible to discuss with Dutch naval experts
what the technical demands were for aircraft carriers if to be used for modern
fighters. In November of the same year confirmed Iccar still the serious
intention of Venezuela in purchasing 1-2 aircraft carriers. Nevesbu however was
no longer interested and informed Iccar in the same month.
