Japanese shipyards objected against criticised top heavy warships according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1935 no. 4

Fuso

An item referred to the magazine le Yacht dated 20 April 1935 reporting that the Japanese shipyards defended themselves against the fact that some warships were top heavy by claiming that the draught needed to be small due to the coastal hydrographical circumstances. The already high superstructures of the battleships was after their modernisation even more extended. The Fuso for instance had a fire control tower with a height of 30 metres packed with telemeters. The 30.000 ton battleships Hyuga and the Ise had no less as 9 fire control stations on 9 separate bridges.
