British torpedo boat destroyer HMS Rocket launched ay Clydebank, Scotland according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad 1894-1895 no. 6

An item referred to the magazine Engineering reporting the launching by Thomson, Clydebank, Scotland on 14th August of the British torpedo boat destroyer HMS Rocket the first of the three of this type under construction. At the launching was her machinery already placed consisting of triple expansion steam engines and Normand water tube boilers (tubes were coppered) allowing a speed of 27 miles. She was on short notice to be fitted out for the trial.(1)

1. Launched in 1894 as part of the Rocket-class consisting of the Rocket, Shark and Surly preceded by the Sunfish-class, succeeded by the Sturgeon-class and sold in 1912.
