An item referred to the German magazine Schiffbau No. 24 dated September which republished a small line drawing of a 5.400 tons Russian submarine cruiser earlier published in Scientific American [dated 26 April 1913]. The dimensions were 121 x 10 metres, the speed 26 (surfaced)-14 (submerged) miles, 36 torpedo launchers including 2 fixed bow and 2 fixed stern tubes and further more could mines carried with her. The conning tower and gun turret could be lowered and the exposed parts while surfaced were protected by 5-7,5cm thick armour. The magazine Schiffbau thought that a number of smaller submarines were more effective than one huge one. Such a huge submarine needed devices like telescopic masts to compensate the relative small visual field.
