Italian submarines Luciano Manara and Santorre Santarosa launched according to the Dutch magazine dated Marineblad 1930 no. 2

An item referred to the magazine Marine Rundschau dated November 1929 reported the launching of the Italian submarines Luciano Manara (1) and Santorre Santarosa of the [Fratelli] Bandiera-class on respectively 5 and 10 October. Displacement 850 (surfaced)-1.065 (submerged) tons and as dimensions 69,8 x 5,78 metres. Speed 12,5 (surfaced)-9 (submerged) miles. Armament consisted of 1-10,2cm/4” and 8-53,3cm/21” torpedo tubes (4 bow, 4 stern). Built under the Supplementary building program of 1926.

1. Laid down by Cantieri Triestini, Monfalcone, Italy on 1 May 1928, launched on 5 October 1929, commissioned on 29 July 1930 and discarded in February 1948.
2. Laid down by OTO, Muggiano, Italy in May 1928, launched on 22 October 1929, completed in July 1930 and scuttled on 20 January 1943.
