German cruiser SMS Swalbe visited Sabang, Dutch East Indies according to the Dutch nieuwsblad dated 6 October 1902

An item reported that the German cruiser Schwalbe (1) arrived in the night of 19 September at Sabang, Dutch East Indies coming from Singapore for bunkering water.(1)

1. Laid down by Kaiserliche Werft, Wilhelmshaven, Germany with yard number 9 in April 1896, launched on 16 August 1887, commissioned on 8 May 1888, stricken on 6 December 1919 and broken up at Hamburg, Germany in 1922. Part of the Schwalbe-class unprotected cruisers, consisting of the Schwalbe and Sperber, succeeded by the Bussard-class.
2. According to the Jaarboek van de Koninklijke Nederlandsche Zeemacht 1901-1902 visited she Sabang between 19-22 September 1902.
