The founding of a new torpedo boat shipyard at Wolgast, East Germany according to a CIA report dated 8 September 1948

An item reported that 10.000 labourers coming from Usedom Island and Wolgast were involved in founding a new torpedo boat yard at Wolgast for which they get a higher salary as normally including extra rations. All components were elsewhere produced, at Wolgast were the boats assembled. The steel hulls came from the Vulkanwerft, Rostock, screws and propeller shafts from the Waggonfabriek Wismar, steel made superstructures from the Stralsunder Schiffswerft and part of the needed diesel machinery from Kaliningrad probably from the former Borsigwerft.
