The tugs of the Soviet Northern Steamship Company according to a CIA report dated 30 April 1953

An item reported that the Northern Steamship Company or Severnoye Parokhodstvo with her central directorate located at Archangelsk was active between Kotlas and Archangelsk on the Servernaya Dvina river and possessed 40 barges and 120 self-propelled ships. The latter consisted for the main part of old type paddle wheel wood-fuelled steam tugs.
