The Romanian Danube River Shore Command according to a CIA report dated 24 October 1952

An item reported that the Romanian Danube River Shore Command (Comandamentul Litoralului Fluvia) was under control of the Department of the Armed Forces. The Marines Battalion numbering 800 men was stationed in the harbour of Calarasi. Furthermore was it responsible for the Tiglina radio station located around 4-5 kilometres south of Galati. At Braila were shore motor patrol launchers based just like the engineers battalion and naval detachments at Turnu Severia and Sfantul Gheroghe.
