An item reported that for the year 1905 the mobile defence of French Indochina consisted of 1 destroyer and 4 torpedo boats 1st class fitted out, 4 torpedo boats 1st class, 1 torpedo boat 3rd class and 2 vedettes non-active and 2 torpedo boats 1st class and 1 torpedo boats 3rd class in reserve and submarines Lynx and Protée. There were 2 central bases, one at Saigon and the other one (Cape Saint Jacques) at Rach-Dua.
