Apollo-class
An item referred to the proposal to built for Canadian account 3 cruisers 2nd class and 3 destroyers. After the ships were completed was the intention to change them regularly with similar British ships. The Canadian ships were ten able to practice with and serve within the British Royal Navy and with British ships serving in Canadian waters. In this manner became Canadian naval officers well trained an skilled.(1)

1. A result of the Naval Service Bill pf January 1910 presented by prime minister Laurier which was however not accepted by French-Canadian nationalists and British-Canadian imperialists and was to be replaced by a new bill of prime minister Robert Borden. In 1912. In the meantime was the Canadian navy established to which the British protected cruisers HMS Niobe of the Diadem-class and the Rainbow of the Apollo-class were handed over mainly to be used as training ships.
