New design for French dreadnoughts according to the magazine Mitteilungen aus dem Gebiete des Seewesens dated 1910 No. 1

An item reported that the French minister of navy Boué de Lapeyrère (1) replaced the demands for designing battleships in the past supplied by minister Picard (2) to the private shipyards. Was earlier thought about using a mixture of twin and triple gun turrets now was the triple gun turret out of question. The newly projected battleships were to have an increased displacement of 23.500 tons instead of the original 21.000 tons and an armament of 6x2-30,5cm Model 1906 guns with an ammunition storage of 100 shot each gun and 6x3-14cm guns in armoured barbettes with an ammunition storage of 275 shots for each gun. Further more consisted the armament of 2-4,7cm guns and 3,7 cm guns, 2-65cm landing guns and 2 torpedo tubes.(3)

3. The Courbet-class consisting of the Courbet, France, Jean Bart and Paris, preceded by the Danton-class and succeeded by the Bretagne-class. All four ships were commissioned in 1913-1914. Their actual armament consisted of 6x2-30,5cm/12” Model 1910 guns, 22x1-13,8cm/5.4” Model 1910 guns, 4x1-4m7cm/1.9” guns and 4-45cm/17.7” torpedo tubes.
