German river gunboat Tsingtau transported to the Far East according to the magazine Mitteilungen aus dem Gebiete des Seewesens dated 1904 no. 1

An item reported that the at Elbing build German river gunboat Tsingtau was disassembled and transported on board of the steamship Prinzess Maria towards East Asia where she at the end of the year was to be commissioned.(1)

1. Ordered in 1902, laid down yard number 710 by F. Schichau, Elbing, Germany in the summer of 1902, launched on 18 April 1903, commissioned on 3 February 1904 and scuttled by her own crew near Kanton, China on 21 March 1917.
