British built Chinese cruiser Mai-Cho underway towards China according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1899-1900 no. 6

An item referred to the magazine le Yacht reporting that the Chinese cruiser Mai-Cho built by Armstrong departed still under British flag begin June towards China. Displacement 4.300 tons. With a horsepower 17.000 hp and a speed of 23 miles.(1)
