Russian navy tug Mb-83 sighted at Sassnitz, East Germany according to a CIA report dated 29 March 1954

An item reported the sighting of several naval vessels in or around the harbour of Sassnitz between 18 January and 5 February 1954 of the large Russia tug Mb-83 although with the East German flag in top. Her crew numbered 25-30 German sailors and the orders on board were given in German. The armament consisted of 1-2/2,5cm twin barrelled anti-aircraft gun mounted behind the captain’s bridge which was located near the forward side of the poop.
