An item reported a large Soviet two funnelled destroyer on 5 June 1958 at 02:00 o’clock (GMT) on the location 68.35 north and 38.40 east on a course of 130 degrees with a speed of 20 knots. The rain prevented a good observation so just brief details were available. She had a length of around 400 feet, flush deck, between the bridge and the foremost funnel was a tripod mast situated and a second one between the funnels. The mast between the funnels was fitted out with a large radar. The armament consisted of 2 turrets (one fore and one aft) bearing guns with an unknown calibre between the funnels were torpedo tubes seen.
