Russian warships sighted near Kronstadt and Leningrad (St. Petersburg), Russia according to a CIA report dated 15 March 1957

An item reported the sighting of 2 light cruises and 2 destroyers off the Leningrad lightship underway towards Kronstadt. The similar looking cruisers had 2 funnels and 2 masts. Both destroyers also were similar looking and of the common type with foredeck, break, main deck and 2 funnels and probably one mast. A destroyer with a pronounced sheer line and flush decked and several submarines were seen in the Morskoy Canal, Leningrad [St. Petersburg nowadays].
