Chinese gunboat Yung Sui 1939-1975


Laid down at the Kiangnan Dockyard, Shanghai China for the Japanese navy in May 1928, launched on 27 January 1929, completed in 1929, sunk by Chinese communists military on the Yangtze in April 1949, salvaged and repaired as commissioned  and finally stricken in 1975. Displacement 650 tons and as dimensions 225 x 30 x 6 (mean)-7 (maximum) feet. Two vertical expansion engines supplying via 2 shafts 4.000 ihp allowing a speed of 12-18,5 knots. Crew numbered 152 men by 1958. Armament consisted in 1958 of 1-3” anti aircraft gun, 1-4cm anti aircraft gun and 4 machineguns.
