South Korean patrol vessel Kumseong or Gumseong PC 202 (ex-PCS-1445 1943-1952) 1952-1970s


Laid down by San Diego Marine Construction Co., San Diego, California as PC-1445 on 30 January 1943, reclassified as PCS-1145 in April 1943, launched on 19 June 1943, commissioned on 9 March 1944, selected to be disposed in November 1948, handed over top South Korea in 1952 and returned to the USA in the 1970s. Displacement 245/251-338 (full load) tons and as dimensions 136 x 24.5-24.6 x 8.5=8.7 feet. Speed 14 knots. Machinery consisted of 2 General Motors 8-268A diesel engines supplying 800 bhp. Armament consisted of 1-4xm gun and 2-2cm guns. In US Navy service 1-3” dual purpose gun, 1-4cm gun, 2-2cm guns, 4 depth charge projectors, one hedgehog and 2 depth charge racks. Wood made hull.
