Dutch brig ship Zuiderzee bound towards Surinam according to the Dutch newspaper Nieuwe Rotterdamsche Courant dated 12 August 1869

An announcement reported that the fast coppered brig ship Zuiderzee capt C.P. de Jong was lying in the Oosterdok in Amsterdam destined towards Surinam. For more details could be asked at Hoyman&Schuurman or Canne&Balwe of Amsterdam.(1)

The newspaper Dagblad van ‘s Gravenhage dated 12 September 1845 reported that on 4 September at the shipyard Welgelegen for Harmens en Zonen in Harlingen the brig schip Zuiderzee of 197 Dutch lasten was launched. Shipbuilders D. en L. Alta were very pleased with all the complements of experts dealing with the sis ship. She had a small draught of just 11½ feet and 17 palmen and was sharp built.
