In a report published 26 February 1953 supplied an anonymous source information about the Soviet Caspian Flotilla; the source left the region in 1951. According to him were in and before 1951 maneuvres held in the areas between Derbent [Dagestan, Russia] and Kuli-Mayak [Turkmenistan] which was north of Krasnovosk [since 1993 Türkmenbaşy, Turkmenistan]. He believed that except for the common firing and tactics there was especially attention for training in landing operations.
