Activities of enemy submarines on Atlantic Ocean concentrated in 2 areas according to the U.S. Joint Intelligence Committee. Daily summary dated 16 March 1942

An item reported that most of the enemy submarine attacks in the last two days concentrated on the North Cuban coast-Florida Straits-Bahamas area and off the US Atlantic coast between Charleston and New York. On 15 March attacked a aircraft with possible success a submarine about 250 miles southeast of Cape Race. The activities of enemy submarines south and southwest of Iceland were in the meantime increasing.
