An item referred to the Tokyo press which reported on 28 February a US naval force consisting of 1 aircraft carrier 2 cruisers and 6 destroyers attacked Wake in the morning of 24 February. Japanese guns positioned on land scored 1 hit on a cruiser and 1 one a destroyer and their aircraft 1 hit on a cruiser. Further more was said that the USA lost 5 aircraft. On the other land the Japanese lost 1 patrol vessel, some personnel losses but their military facilities were considerable damaged.
