The gunboat Shwepazun of Burma/Myanmar 1961



She was of the Shwedaga-class. In 1961-1962 there were nine gunboats with a displacement of 98 ton, including the Hintha. They were originally river steamers leased from the Inland Water Transportation and rebult as gunboats. In 1961-16 they were armed with 6-20mm AA guns and as dimensions 94,5 x 22 x 4,5‘ and dating from 1947.

Jane’s Fighting Ships 1976/1977 mentioned besides the Shwepazun the Saban, Sagu, Seinda, Setkaya, Setyahat, Shwethida and the Sinmin. Thei crew numbered 32 men, dimensions were 94’5”x 22 x 4’5”, armament 1-40mm and 3-20mm guns and the 160 bhp allowed a speed of 12 knots.
