British naval policy according to the Dutch newspaper Het Vaderland: staat- en letterkundig nieuwsblad morning edition dated 13 February 1930

London, 12 February. In the House of Commons expressed the First Lord of the Admiralty Alexander that there were none intentions to decommission one of the last British cruisers. Answering an question from a conservative on which base the decrease in number of cruisers was calculated said Alexander that after long considerations was chosen for 50 cruisers and that this number also depended on a suspected positive results of the Naval conference. He wasn’t able to supply more details but it was certain that none of the newest battleships were to be stricken.
