The Spanish squadron at Havana, Cuba according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 21 July 1818

New York, 15 June. According to an accurate list consisted the Spanish naval force at Havana of one 22-gun corvette, one 18-gun brig, one 14-gun brig, three brigantines of 18, 16 and 22 guns and a 6-gun goelette. The corvette was awkward vessel being a former French merchant ship while the other vessels were bought from Americans originally fitted out for privateering. The vessels seemed to be in good condition regularly manoeuvring on the roads. They were manned with good crews and a reasonable amount of soldiers on board but this force didn’t do anything.
