The strength of the navy of Prussia in 1849

For years was in the Netherlands a magazine published dealing with maritime affairs. It published in 1850 a small news item, originally published in the official newspaper of the Dutch government the Staats-Courant dated 31 December 1849. According to this item her navy consisted as the Prussian Department of War declared of the 12-gun corvette Amazon, the 4-gun steamboat Der Preussische Adler, the 3-gun steamboat Danzig and 42 gunboats, the latter divided in 3 divisions. Totally 97 guns , 48 officers and 175 sailors.
