German gunboat Hedwig von Wismann destroyed in Africa according to the Dutch newspaper Het nieuws van den dag voor Nederlandsch-Indië dated 15 February 1916

An item reported that British and Belgian flotillas destroyed the German gunboat Hedwig Wissmann in the Tangayika Lake in Central Africa. Two German sailors were killed and 21 taken prisoners. The British and Belgians suffered no losses. Another Dutch newspaper De Tijd dated 14 February wrote that the Hedwig von Wismann sunk near Albertville. Two German crewmembers were killed, 2 officers and 10 sailors were taken prisoner just like 9 home grown sailors.
