An item reported that Unilever had a conflict with the Norwegian whaling companies Polaris and Globus. Both companies were contracted to deliver train-oil. Unilever however accepted just train-oil transport by the train-oil factory ships and refused for this reason 77.000 tons transports with tankers or transports. The two companies claimed that Unilever had to accept however all train-oil as was contracted while this plant accepted also train-oil transported by other companies with transports instead of factory ships. The fact was that in the contracts with these other companies the contracts allowed to use transports unlike the contracts of Globus and Polaris. The shares of both companies however reduced in value on the stock markets.(1)
Note
1. The result of this refusal was years of lawsuit which seemed to be lost by Unilever.
