An announcement reported that shipbrokers G.J. Roland Horst, J.H.A. Balwé, J. Corver, H. Salm and B.D. Bosscher intended to sale on Monday 11 June at 18.00 o’clock in the Nieuwe Stads Herberg at the IJ, Amsterdam the extra ordinary well sailing coppered Dutch bark ship Mercurius captain J.H. Seepe, measurement 274 tons and as dimensions 27 ellen 72 duimen x 5 ellen 9 duimen x 4 ellen 37 duimen (hold.(1)

1. The website Piet's index mentioned a bark Mercurius built in 1829 at the shipyard Het Wapen van Harlingen in Amsterdam and that she was property between 1829-1840 of the Amsterdamsche Reederij Sociëteit in Amsterdam. Lost in October 1840 at the Kentish Knock off Ramsgate.
