Russian so-called Vladivostok squadron destroyed British steamship Knight Commander according to the Dutch newspaper Nieuwe Tilburgsche Courant dated 26 July 1904

An item reported that the Russian Vladivostok squadron destroyed the Sunday before the British steamship Knight Commander underway from New York. Since 11 July towards Shanghai and Yokohama with a mixed cargo. The European passengers were kept in custody. Her crew arrived the 25^th in Yokohama with the steamboat Tsinan. The Russians seized also a German ship, probably the Arabia loaded with flour and an unknown British ship, both ships were send to Vladivostok.
