British tug Nente launched at Dutch shipyard at Hardinxveld according to the Dutch newspaper Nieuwsblad voor Gorinchem en omstreken dated Monday 23 August 1954


An item reported that the Saturday before at 12.00 o’clock at the Dutch shipyard N.V. Scheepsbouwwerf De Hoop at Hardinxveld the twin screw tug Nente was launched. She was built for the Elder Dempster Lines to be used in East Africa and on short notice to be brought as a deck load of a ocean steamer. Fitted out with 2x120 hp Widdop engines. Dimensions 66’x 17’x 6’ and 7’3”hold). Probably she is the same as the tug for British account of which the keel was laid down on the slip where the Le Rharbi was launched on 23 December 1953(edition dated 28 December 1953).
