American torpedo boat USS Wilkes launched according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad 1901/1902 no. 8

An item referred to the magazine Army and Naval Journal which reported that the torpedo boat Wilkes with a displacement of 165 tons and as dimensions 175’ x 17 was launched. Her two triple 4 cylinder expansion engines and 3 Seabury boilers with 250 pound pressure supplied 3.000 ihp allowing a speed of 26,5 miles.
