Former German warships handed over to France according to the Dutch newspaper De Gooi- en Eemlander dated 17 October 1947

An item reported that 31 ships of the former German navy and further more a floating dock were to be handed over to France according to a commission of the Naval Commission. It concerned 3 destroyers, 1 plane mother ship, a mother ship for surface units, 12 minesweepers, 3 trawlers, 2 tanker, 7 seagoing tugs, 2 torpedo transports and 1-40.000 ton floating dock. Except for the destroyers could all ships easily be converted for civilian purposes.
