Naval operations of the Dutch East Company at Bengal according to the Generale Missive dated 5 December 1742

Send towards Bengal were the ships bound towards the Netherlands, the Voorduin via Padang and the Ruiter and Ida via Coromandel. Directly sailing towards Bengal were the Vrijheid, Velsen, Schonauwen, Bosbeek and Haamstede. The Magdalena and Oosterhout which sailed via Malakka were to return to Batavia. Each ship had on board 4 ton of gold, except for the Ida and the Ruiter which were to taken this on board while at Coromandel. Total value included the cargo of the Zorgwijk 44 ton, lacking nearly 7 ton as original demanded. The Zorgwijk was ordered to be the 4th ship sent homewards.
