The Brazilian navy according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 23 July 1825

Paris, 19 July. Letters from Rio Janeiro dated 29 April published in the newspaper l'Etoile mentioned the arrival of two couriers from Montevideo and that the government alarmed by the tidings they received dealing with the movements of the patriots decided to send a squadron to that port consisting of a frigate, 3 corvettes and 10 gun sloops.
