American squadron being fitted out according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 2 November 1824

London, United Kingdom, 29 October. According to a news item dated New Orleans, USA 26 September was a squadron commanded by commodore Ro(d)gers to be fitted out and consisting of the 74-gun North Carolina, the frigate Constitution and some smaller vessels. The destination was however unknown but probably to show the American flag.
