Fearing for their lives and properties caused by revolt(s) on Haiti or St. Domingo the Dutch inhabitants asked for protection from the Dutch government. In the meantime the French consul was responsible for their protection. The Dutch brig Zr. Ms. Pijl left Curacao towards Haiti but returned from Port-au-Prince 25 March.(1)
