Movements of British warships and Greek pirates in the Mediterranean according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 2 March 1827

Frankfurt, 25 February. In letters from Trieste, dated 14 February, was mentioned that the British commodore Hamilton captured after a short resistance a Greece polacre, coming back from a piracy cruise at Hydra. Hamilton send the prize towards Malta. Metaxa, regent of Syra, recently departed with a hired Hydriotic goelette, to undertake action against the pirates. He was however forced to seek refugee in a monastery.
