The Austrian and Turkish navies in the Levant according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 26 August 1823

Smyrna, 18 July. The Captain Pasha embarked at Prevesa 18.000 soldiers and transported them to Patras. Off the coasts of Morea he captured two Greek ships with cargos destined towards Nazarene. The prisoners were taken on board of ships in the Turkish squadron but treated with all care.
The Austrian brig il Veloce arrived 6 July at Smyrna taken with her two Greek prizes, one was a 6-gun goelette of Casso, the other a 4-gun mistiek with 20 men, in fact being a pirate. The arrival of the three ships was sighted by a large Turkish audience for who it was the first time since the revolt that they saw ships of this kind.
