London, 22 September. The newspaper of Barcelona dated 10 September published a letter dated Mahon 1 September written by the commanding navy officer at Minorca to the commanding navy officer at Barcelona. He wrote that a Dutch squadron commanded by rear admiral Wolterbeek yesterday after a voyage of 5 days coming from Algiers arrived. The Dutch consul told the Spanish officer that Wolterbeek reported to him that Algiers did all efforts to fit out a squadron presumably to attack Spanish merchant ships.
