The Italian naval shipbuilding program according to the Dutch newspaper Het Vaderland: staat- en letterkundig nieuwsblad Het Vaderland: staat- en letterkundig nieuwsblad daily edition dated 12 October 1936

From Rome, Italy was an official government press tiding received that several dozens of warships were on stocks at Italian yards namely 2-35,000 tons battleships, 2 cruisers of the second class together measuring 15,748 tons, 4 destroyers of together 7,400 tons, 13 torpedo boats of together 12,000 tons and 16 submarines of together 13,197 tons. Further more were 10 submarines with a small range each of 600 tons placed on the Navy list and were 4 advice yachts of 800 tons and around MTBs being built.
