The new Portuguese home fleet according to the Dutch newspaper Het Vaderland: staat- en letterkundig nieuwsblad daily edition dated 18 September 1939

According to tidings from Lisbon was the home fleet which was recently decided to be created to consist of an aviso of 1,787 ton, an aviso of 1,030 ton, 6 destroyers, a torpedo boat, 3 submarines and the old frigate Don Fernando. This new fleet was to be commanded by commodore Souza Ventura who lead the latest naval manoeuvres.
