American warships USS Colorado and Frolic at Nieuwediep, Netherlands bound for Cherbourg, France according to the Dutch Nieuwe Courant van Den Helder dated Wednesday 23 August 1865

An item dated Den Helder the 22nd reported that the American warships Colorado (1) and Frolic (2) intended to leave next Friday towards Cherbourg, France. At that moment were they bunkering coal.

1. Screw steam frigate laid down in 1856 a the Norfolk Navy Yard, launched on 19 June by Miss N.S. Dornin, commissioned on 13 March 1858 and finally decommissioned on 8 June 1876 although not earlier sold as on 18 February 1885.
2. USS side wheel steamship Frolic, built in 1862 at Greenock, Scotland. Captured in 1863 by the USS Santiago de Cuba as the blockade runner Advance and commissioned in October 1864 as the USS Advance. Served as the dispatch vessel Frolic for the American  European squadron [in 1865] Sold in 1883 and became a merchant ship.
