An item reported that at the Brooklyn Navy Yard on the 28th ultimo the USS side wheeler Tullahoma was launched, armed with 8 guns and the dimensions 240’x 55’x 12’ (depth).(1)

1. This double-ended gunboat of the Sassacus-class with a wooden hull, transferred to the Navy on 27 December 1865, sold on 29 August 1868, on 10 November appeared she in documents as the Mary M. Roberts, apparently converted into a barge on 21 December 1870 and with an unknown fate. Engines built by William Wright an engine builder of New York. Of 974 tons burden. Speed estimated to be 13,7 knots.
