Dutch bark ship Macasser wrecked in the Torres Strait according to the Dutch newspaper Nieuwe Courant van den Helder dated 18 September 1861

An item reported that the Dutch bark ship Macasser captain C.M. de Boer of Harlingen departed on 11 May from Newcastle, Australia towards Batavia, Dutch East Indies was lost in the Torres Strait.
