the 9th reported that the crown rewarded Nicolaous Espiro Theodor
master of the Greek gunboat Tombasi and Demetrius Betzis of Athens
with a silver medallion for rescuing 5 midshipmen and 2 boatswain trainees of
he Dutch steam screw frigate De Ruyter which nearly drowned when their boat
capsized in the harbour
of Piraeus.
